Michelle (Kaylee DeFer) is a young woman struggling to get her life back on track after being responsible for the deaths of three of her friends in a drunk driving accident. After attending rehab and getting sober, she takes a job as a photographer's assistant that was recommended by her counselor.
While on the job, Michelle is asked to take some photos at a remote mansion owned by the wealthy and eccentric Darroch siblings. However, once she arrives, she soon realizes that the Darrochs are not what they seem. They are three siblings - Jasper (Toby Hemingway), Viviene (Shannon Collis), and Brady (Erik Bogh) - who are deeply disturbed and harbor a hatred for anyone they see as sinners or wrongdoers.
The Darrochs trap Michelle in their mansion and begin to torture her physically and psychologically. They force her to confront the guilt she feels over her role in the fatal accident and try to purge her of her sins through pain and humiliation. As Michelle fights to survive their twisted games, she must also confront the demons that led her to her tragic mistake in the past.
Darkroom is a dark and intense thriller that explores themes of guilt, shame, and redemption. It is a cautionary tale of the extreme consequences that can arise from irresponsibility and poor decision-making, and it showcases a strong performance from DeFer as the troubled and haunted Michelle.
