Drama,Comedy  Spain

Dark Habits (1983), is a Spanish comedy-drama film directed by Pedro Almodóvar. It stars Cristina Sánchez Pascual as Yolanda Bell, a cabaret singer who finds herself in trouble with the law after her drug-dealing boyfriend is murdered. Seeking refuge, Yolanda stumbles upon a convent of eccentric nuns who are addicted to drugs and alcohol.

The Mother Superior of the convent is played by Julieta Serrano, who indulges in her addiction to morphine and is a big fan of Yolanda's singing. Yolanda becomes a part of the unusual community of nuns, who include a hippie sister named Sister Sewer (played by Carmen Maura), a transgender nun named Sister Legaña (played by Marisa Paredes), and a nun with a severe allergic reaction to the outside world named Sister Manure (played by Chus Lampreave).

As Yolanda tries to figure out her next move, she becomes embroiled in the nuns' scandals, including a blackmail plot involving a wealthy benefactor of the convent and a secret drug deal. The film is a humorous and satirical take on the religious order and its practices and an exploration of the unconventional lifestyles and vices of the characters.
