Dark Figure of Crime is a South Korean crime-drama film directed by Kim Tae-kyun and starring Kim Yoon-seok and Ju Ji-hoon in the lead roles. The film is about a police detective named Hyeong-min (played by Kim Yoon-seok) who investigates unsolved murder cases, and a convicted killer named Tae-oh (played by Ju Ji-hoon) who contacts him for one reason: to confess his crimes.

At first, Hyeong-min is skeptical of Tae-oh's claims, thinking that he is just a pathological liar seeking attention. However, as Tae-oh begins to provide specific details about the murders that only the killer could have known, Hyeong-min starts to believe him. Thus, a strange relationship develops between the two men, as Hyeong-min tries to get Tae-oh to provide more information about the crimes and Tae-oh tries to manipulate Hyeong-min psychologically.

Tae-oh's backstory is gradually revealed throughout the film, and it is revealed that he has committed more than a dozen murders over the years. He is a narcissistic and intelligent psychopath who enjoys playing mind games with Hyeong-min, often teasing him with cryptic clues and tantalizing details about his crimes. The film is a tense and gripping psychological thriller that explores themes of guilt, justice, and redemption. The relationship between Hyeong-min and Tae-oh is complex and multi-layered, as the two men try to outwit each other and gain the upper hand. The ending of the film is unexpected and thought-provoking, leaving the audience with many questions and a sense of unease. Overall, Dark Figure of Crime is a well-crafted and engrossing film that showcases the talents of its cast and director.
