Dark Angel, also known as I Come in Peace, is a 1990 sci-fi action movie directed by Craig R. Baxley. The film stars Dolph Lundgren as Jack Caine, a tough and reckless Houston vice cop who is obsessed with taking down the drug lord Victor Manning (played by Brian Benben). Caine's partner, Larry Smith (played by Scott L. Schwartz), is killed during a failed sting operation on Manning's drug headquarters, leaving Caine determined to get revenge.
As Caine investigates the drug trade in Houston, he begins to notice strange occurrences that he can't explain. People are dying from unexplained causes, and there are reports of strange lights and sounds in the sky. Caine eventually discovers that Manning is not the only threat to Houston's safety. An alien from a distant planet is using the drug trade as a cover to steal human endorphins, which it needs to power a weapon it plans to use to conquer Earth.
Caine is skeptical of the idea of an alien menace but soon comes face-to-face with the extraterrestrial killer (played by Matthias Hues). With the help of an FBI agent (played by Betsy Brantley) and a scientist (played by Jay Bilas), Caine battles the alien and learns that his own endorphins can be used as a weapon against the creature. In the end, Caine defeats the alien and finally avenges his partner's death.
Dark Angel was initially released to mixed reviews but has since gained a cult following for its combination of sci-fi and action elements. The movie is known for its over-the-top violence, Lundgren's performance, and the film's iconic catchphrase, "I come in peace."
