Darby O'Gill is an aging caretaker for Lord Fitzpatrick's estate in Ireland. He spends his time telling tall tales of leprechauns living in the nearby hills. One day, Darby is able to capture the King of the Leprechauns, a wily sprite named King Brian, who agrees to grant him three wishes. Darby uses his first wish to ask for a life-size pot of gold, but realizes too late that it's too heavy to carry.
