Dangerously Close is a 1986 American action-drama film directed by Albert Pyun and written by John Stockwell. The film stars John Stockwell as the hero character, Randy McDevitt, and J. Eddie Peck as the leader of the elitist clique, Dave Deland.

The story takes place at a prestigious, wealthy high school, where Randy is a rebellious but clever student. One day, he discovers that a group of wealthy, privileged students who call themselves "the Sentinels" are using violence and intimidation to eliminate what they consider undesirable elements in the school and the community.

Randy and a few other students who are targeted by the Sentinels team up with an unconventional teacher, Mr. Horn, to try and put a stop to the group's violent and bigoted actions. As they gather more evidence against the Sentinels, the situation becomes increasingly dangerous, and the two groups eventually engage in a deadly confrontation.

Throughout the film, various themes are explored, including class conflict, prejudice, and the dangers of extremism. The movie also features a strong soundtrack, including songs by Tangerine Dream and INXS.

Dangerously Close received mixed reviews upon its release but has since become a cult classic among fans of 80s action movies. The film features an impressive cast of young actors, many of whom went on to successful careers, including Carey Lowell, who later starred in Law and Order, and Brad Pitt, who has become one of Hollywood's most prominent leading men.
