In Dangerous Liaisons, Célène is a shy and introverted high school senior who has just transferred to a new school. She immediately catches the eye of popular surfer Tristan, who is known for his good looks, athletic abilities, and ability to charm just about anyone.
Tristan approaches Célène and begins to flirt with her, eventually leading her to believe that he has genuine feelings for her. Meanwhile, Tristan's friend, the popular and influential Instagram model Vanessa, is watching from afar and concocts a cruel bet with Tristan. She bets him that he can't get Célène to fall in love with him and then break her heart.
Tristan, initially hesitant to participate in the bet, eventually agrees and begins to manipulate Célène's feelings, leading her on and making her believe that they have a real relationship. As their relationship progresses, Célène becomes more and more attached to Tristan, falling deeply in love with him.
However, when the bet is revealed to Célène, she is devastated and heartbroken. She confronts Tristan and Vanessa, ultimately realizing that their actions were cruel and manipulative. In the end, Célène must cope with the aftermath of their actions and try to move on from the deception and heartbreak caused by Tristan and Vanessa's dangerous game.
