Rafael and John's relationship gets off to a rocky start as John is resistant to the idea of being a father. However, over time, the two begin to bond as they both share a passion for dancing. Rafael also develops a romantic interest in Ruby, a talented dancer at the studio, but she is in a relationship with her dance partner Brett.
As the World Open Dance championship approaches, tensions rise as the studio prepares to compete with the best dancers from around the world. Rafael and Ruby shine on the dance floor, but their personal lives become entangled when Brett starts to become jealous of Rafael's connection with Ruby.
In the end, the studio overcomes their obstacles and achieves success at the championship. Rafael and John also come to a deeper understanding and appreciation for each other. The movie closes with a touching moment where Rafael and John dance together, now bound by their shared love for dance and family.
