Dadnapped is a 2009 Disney Channel Original Movie directed by Paul Hoen. The film stars Emily Osment, David Henrie, Jason Earles, and Moises Arias.
The story follows Melissa Morris, a teenage girl who is jealous of her father's fictional character, Tripp Zoome, a teenage super spy. Melissa's dad, Neal, is a best-selling author who has recently finished his latest book about Tripp Zoome. As he is getting ready to go on a book tour, Neal is kidnapped by a group of overzealous fans who want to meet Tripp Zoome in person.
Melissa soon discovers that the kidnappers are actually a group of former actors who played Tripp Zoome in a television show. They are upset that Neal's version of the character is more popular than theirs, and they plan to force Neal to write a new Tripp Zoome book that will make their version of the character more popular.
With the help of her younger brother, Abi, and Tripp Zoome himself (who is actually a character from Melissa's imagination), Melissa sets out to rescue her father and stop the kidnappers. Along the way, she learns to overcome her jealousy and embrace her own strengths, becoming a hero in her own right.
