Curdled is a 1996 crime-comedy film that follows Gabriella, a Columbian immigrant who is fascinated with violent crime and murder. She starts working for a company that specializes in cleaning up crime scenes after murders, and during her job at the scene of a recent Blue Blood Killer murder, she discovers evidence that the police have overlooked.
As she becomes more involved in the investigation, Gabriella becomes increasingly fixated on the killer. She starts to see connections between the murders and her own traumatic past in Colombia. The film is unusual in that it begins with the killer's capture and subsequent execution, before flashing back to Gabriella's involvement in the case.
As Gabriella delves deeper into the investigation, she is mentored by a seasoned crime scene cleaner and a young detective who is also investigating the Blue Blood murders. Along the way, she bungles an attempt to trap the killer, leading to a violent confrontation with him.
Curdled has a quirky sense of humor that offsets its dark subject matter. It also features an eclectic cast of characters, including a clown-faced serial killer, a Cuban bordello owner, and a wheelchair-bound man who has a habit of breaking into song. The film was directed by Reb Braddock and produced by Quentin Tarantino.
