Cult of the Cobra is a 1955 horror film directed by Francis D. Lyon and starring Faith Domergue, Richard Long, and Marshall Thompson. The film follows a group of American soldiers stationed in Asia who witness a secret ceremony performed by the Lamians, a cult of snake-worshiping women who can transform into cobras.
The six G.I.'s are warned not to speak of what they saw, but one of them (Long) takes a photo of the ceremony. When the cult discovers the photo, they vow to seek revenge. The soldiers return to the U.S. after the war and settle back into civilian life. However, they soon discover that the Lamians have followed them and are now seeking to enact their revenge.
The soldiers try to warn each other of the danger they are in, but one by one they are killed by the vengeful cult. Meanwhile, a mysterious woman named Lisa (Domergue) enters their lives, and the soldiers begin to suspect that she may be connected to the Lamians.
As the body count rises, the soldiers try to figure out how to stop the cult's deadly mission. They eventually learn that the only way to defeat the Lamians is to destroy their idol, which they believe gives them their power. The film climaxes with a tense showdown as the soldiers confront the cult and attempt to destroy the idol.
Cult of the Cobra is a classic horror film with a unique and intriguing premise. While it may feel dated in some respects, it still holds up as a chilling tale of ancient mysticism and revenge. Fans of classic horror movies and monster flicks should definitely check it out.
