The documentary crew is led by filmmaker Jack, who is fascinated by the enigmatic F.A.T.E and their purported doomsday prophecies. On arrival at the village, they are greeted by a few remaining members of the cult who are wary of outsiders and initially refuse to speak to them. However, Rachel catches Jack's eye, and he manages to persuade her to introduce him to the group's leader, Daniel Love.
As the documentary crew begins to capture the inner workings of F.A.T.E, they discover a group of people living a simple and self-sufficient life, devoted to their beliefs. However, they also start to uncover unsettling details about the cult's past, including rumors of brainwashing and forced isolation. Jack becomes increasingly convinced that something sinister is going on behind the group's friendly facade.
Meanwhile, Rachel becomes increasingly involved in F.A.T.E's activities, attracted by their promise of a new start. She strikes up a relationship with Comet, who is torn between his loyalty to the cult and his growing feelings for her. As tensions rise within the group, their strained relationships threaten to boil over.
As the day of the predicted comet approaches, F.A.T.E's beliefs become more intense, and their rituals more extreme. The documentary crew becomes increasingly fearful for their safety, only to discover that the biggest threat they face may come from within the cult itself. Jack and his team realize that they must find a way to escape the village before it's too late, but not before they uncover the explosive secrets that have been hidden within F.A.T.E for years.
