Cube Zero is a Canadian independent science-fiction horror movie that was directed by Ernie Barbarash and released in 2004. It serves as a prequel to the original film (Cube) and is set before the events of the first movie.

The movie follows Eric Wynn, a cube operator who works for a shadowy organization that builds and controls the deadly Cube complex. Eric is responsible for monitoring the rooms and corridors of the Cube, and when a group of strangers gets trapped inside, he watches them through a series of cameras and microphones.

Eric soon discovers that the Cube is not what he thought it was. As he watches the people inside, he begins to question the morality of his work and the people he works for. He also becomes fixated on one of the prisoners, a woman named Cassandra, who he believes is innocent and doesn't deserve to be there.

When Eric's bosses catch wind of his sympathies towards the captives, they punish him by sending him into the Cube himself. As he navigates the deadly traps and puzzles, he must work with the other prisoners to escape and bring down his bosses.

In addition to exploring the motivations of the Cube's operators, Cube Zero also introduces new elements to the Cube's design and mythology, such as the concept of "Level Zero" and the mysterious organization that controls the Cube. The film received mixed reviews from critics but is still considered a cult classic among horror fans.
