Rivalry at Suzuran High

Action  Japan

Crows Zero is a Japanese action film directed by Takashi Miike, released in 2007. The movie is based on the manga series Crows by Hiroshi Takahashi.

The story of the movie revolves around the students of Suzuran High School, where gang fights and violence are a common occurrence. The school has a tradition where students compete to become the "King of School," the most powerful student in Suzuran.

The new transfer student, Genji Takiya (Shun Oguri), enters Suzuran High after being expelled from his previous school. He is the son of a yakuza boss and wishes to leave his father's organization to prove his worth.

Genji quickly gains attention due to his fighting skills and his willingness to stand up to the other students. He forms a friendship with Tokio (Takayuki Yamada), the leader of a group of students who have formed an alliance to take over Suzuran.

Meanwhile, a former student of Suzuran and yakuza, Ken Katagiri (Kyosuke Yabe), is sent to kill Genji. However, he finds himself conflicted as he sees his younger self reflected in Genji and decides to mentor him instead.

As the competition for the King of School title heats up, tensions rise, and battles break out. Genji and his friends face off against rival factions, including a group led by the chairman's son, and a vicious gang led by the ruthless Tamao Serizawa (Takashi Miike).

With raw energy, brutal fights, and a compelling storyline, Crows Zero is a must-see for fans of Japanese action cinema. The film was followed by two sequels: Crows Zero II and Crows Explode.
