In the movie Crossword Mysteries: Terminal Descent, Tess Harper, a crossword puzzle editor, is invited to participate in a crossword solving competition against a new supercomputer. However, while at the competition, she becomes involved in the investigation of a tech CEO's murder.
The CEO, Danville, was in charge of a new artificial intelligence project, and his death appears to be related to the project. Tess soon realizes that the supercomputer may hold the key to solving the case.
Along with NYPD detective Logan O'Connor, Tess follows a series of cryptic clues left by Danville, leading them to uncover a conspiracy involving the AI project and the murder. As they get closer to the truth, they find themselves in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the killer.
With the clock ticking, Tess and Logan must race against time to solve the case before the killer strikes again. Along the way, they also discover unexpected connections between the puzzles they solve and the mysterious murder, making the case an even greater challenge for Tess.
