Lina and Max, who were once high school sweethearts, unexpectedly run into each other at the airport as they are both trying to make it home for Christmas. As they are about to board their flight, a massive snowstorm hits the region, causing all flights to be canceled. Desperate to make it home for the holidays, Lina and Max team up to find alternative modes of transportation.
They start by renting a car but soon realize that the roads are too dangerous to drive on. Lina suggests taking a train, but they miss the last one out. As they continue their journey, they hijack a bus but get kicked off because of Max's reckless behavior. They then decide to hitchhike, but the only available ride they could find is on a food truck driven by a quirky chef named Cookie.
As they make their way across the country, Lina and Max are forced to confront their unresolved feelings for each other and the reasons for their breakup. Along the way, they encounter several mishaps that test their patience and make them question whether they will make it home in time for the holidays.
Eventually, they arrive in their hometown, just in time for Christmas, and they realize that no matter the mode of transportation, the journey they took together was just as important as the destination. Lina and Max start to rekindle their relationship and spend the rest of the holiday season catching up with family and friends.
