Crime Spree is a fast-paced crime comedy that follows the escapades of a gang of French burglars who end up getting into all sorts of trouble when they steal a valuable cache of jewels in Chicago. But things quickly go south when they discover that their heist was actually the property of the feared boss of the Chicago mob, played menacingly by Harvey Keitel.
As they attempt to make their escape, the hapless French criminals find themselves pursued by not just the mafia but also the FBI and a couple of street gangs, who all want a piece of the action. And it doesn't help that the gang leader Sam, played by Gerard Depardieu, has a penchant for causing chaos wherever he goes.
The cast of the movie is quite impressive, featuring a range of talented actors. Alongside Keitel and Depardieu, there's also Johnny Hallyday as one of the gang members, and Renaud as the tech-savvy hacker of the crew.
While the plot of Crime Spree is undoubtedly chaotic and exaggerated, the film manages to strike a balance between comedy, action, and drama, making for an entertaining and thrilling ride. Whether you're a fan of heist movies or just enjoy a good comedic romp, Crime Spree is definitely worth a watch.
