Revenge of the Living Statues

Horror,Comedy  United States of America

Creepshow 2 is a 1987 horror anthology film directed by Michael Gornick and written by George A. Romero, based on stories by Stephen King. The film consists of three segments, each of which is introduced by a character known as "The Creep" (Tom Savini).

In the first segment, "Old Chief Wood'nhead", a wooden statue of a Native American comes to life and seeks revenge on the men who robbed and murdered his elderly owners. The statue is brought to life by a curse placed on it by the old couple's grateful grandson, who gave them gifts of food and necessities for years before becoming rich in the city and forgetting about them.

In the second segment, "The Raft", four teenagers are stranded on a raft in the middle of a lake, surrounded by a mysterious black blob that devours everything it comes into contact with. As the teens try to escape, they realize that the blob is sentient and has a taste for human flesh.

In the third segment, "The Hitchhiker", a wealthy woman who has just run over a hitchhiker on a lonely road is terrorized by his vengeful spirit, which seems to be stalking her everywhere she goes. As she tries to escape the ghostly hitchhiker, she realizes that he may not be as dead as she thought.

Creepshow 2 is a sequel to the 1982 film Creepshow, which was also directed by Romero and written by King. Like its predecessor, Creepshow 2 is notable for its cartoonish, EC Comics-inspired visuals and its darkly comedic tone. The film received mixed reviews upon its release, but has since become a cult favorite among horror fans.
