Creepy Tales of Terror and Horror

Comedy,Horror  United States of America

Creepshow is a horror anthology film released in 1982, directed by George A. Romero and written by Stephen King. The film consists of five separate stories, each with its own unique horror theme inspired by the E.C. comics of the 1950s. The stories are connected by a framing device featuring a young boy named Billy reading a creepy comic book called "Creepshow." The stories include:

1. "Father's Day": A wealthy patriarch rises from the grave to exact revenge on his ungrateful family.

2. "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill": A story about a backwoods hick who discovers a strange meteorite that turns him into a plant creature.

3. "Something to Tide You Over": A wealthy man who has discovered that his wife is cheating on him, takes revenge by burying them both in the sand up to their necks at low tide.

4. "The Crate": A scary story about a wooden crate from an arctic expedition that unleashes a terrifying beast.

5. "They're Creeping Up on You!": A man named Upson Pratt, who is germaphobic, is terrorized by an infestation of cockroaches.

The film is notable for its use of comic book-style visuals and over-the-top gore, as well as its cast, which includes well-known actors such as Leslie Nielsen, Hal Holbrook, and Adrienne Barbeau. The film was a commercial and critical success, leading to a sequel, Creepshow 2, in 1987.
