When Danny, the intelligent 15-year-old high school student, is transferred to the Cranston Academy, he quickly realizes that he doesn't fit in with the other students and feels isolated. However, that all changes when he discovers a secret laboratory and opens a portal to another dimension, unleashing a horde of monsters upon the school.
At first, Danny is horrified by what he has done and tries to stop the monsters from wreaking havoc on the school and its students. But as he learns more about the creatures from the other dimension, he realizes that they are not mindless beasts but intelligent beings with their own society.
With the help of his new friends, Danny must find a way to send the monsters back to their own dimension before they destroy everything he has come to love. Along the way, they must navigate treacherous obstacles and face off against their own fears and doubts.
