Coyotaje follows Ed Montenez, a skilled tracker and border patrol agent, as he sets out to hunt down a coyote who is transporting a mysterious package across the desert. Along the way, he comes across a pair of rogue militiamen who are determined to protect the border at all costs, even if it means bending the law.
As Montenez and the militiamen continue their pursuit of the coyote, they are eventually joined by a suspicious federal agent who is investigating the recent spate of border killings and corruption. Despite their different motivations, the three men find themselves united in their quest to uncover the truth behind the package and its contents.
As they get closer to their target, Montenez and the others begin to realize that the package contains something far more valuable than they ever could have imagined. In a race against time, they must work together to protect the package from those who would seek to steal it, even as they struggle to reconcile their own conflicting desires and moral codes.
