The movie Cowgirls n' Angels follows the story of a 12-year-old girl named Ida Clayton, who lives with her single mom in Oklahoma. Ida has never met her father and feels like she doesn't fit in with the other kids at school. She often sneaks away to watch the local rodeo, where she's captivated by a group of female trick riders known as the Sweethearts of the Rodeo.
One day, Ida sneaks backstage after a show and meets Terence Parker, a former rodeo star who now manages the Sweethearts. Terence is hesitant at first, but eventually agrees to let Ida join the group as an assistant. Ida is thrilled to be part of the Sweethearts and quickly becomes friends with their tough but caring leader, Ms. Bailey.
As Ida becomes more involved with the Sweethearts, she begins to learn more about her own past and the father she's never known. She also helps the team prepare for their biggest competition of the year, the American Royal rodeo in Kansas City. Along the way, Ida learns valuable lessons about loyalty, courage, and the importance of family.
Cowgirls n' Angels stars Bailee Madison as Ida Clayton, James Cromwell as Terence Parker, and Alicia Witt as Ms. Bailey. The movie was directed by Timothy Armstrong and released in 2012.
