Countdown follows the story of Quinn Harris, a young nurse who downloads an app that claims to predict the exact moment of a person's death. Initially, she dismisses it as just a harmless novelty, until she discovers that the app has a countdown timer set for her, and it is ticking away her remaining days.
Desperate to save her life, Quinn seeks help from her friends, but they remain skeptical. As the days pass and the timer draws closer to zero, she realizes that the app is not a mere game, and someone or something is out to get her.
Determined to stop her impending death, Quinn discovers that there might be a way to cheat fate, and she sets out on a race against time to uncover the secret behind the app and its origins. Along the way, she encounters Matt Monroe, a teenager who also has the app, and together they discover that they are not alone in this fight for survival.
As the deadline looms closer, Quinn and Matt uncover a sinister conspiracy with ties to the app's creators, a group of shadowy figures who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets safe.
