Todd, a successful steel worker, plans to propose to his girlfriend Cammie during a romantic weekend at his family's remote cottage. However, things don't go as planned when his slacker brother, Salinger, and his free-spirited girlfriend, Masha, show up unannounced.
The four of them struggle to get along, especially when Salinger accidentally kills Masha during a drunken argument. Todd and Cammie are forced to help Salinger cover up the murder and dispose of the body, all while trying to keep their engagement a secret from Salinger.
As they try to keep their cool and cover up their crime, tensions rise and relationships are tested. Can Todd and Cammie stay together and move past this dark event, or will it ruin their relationship forever? And will they be able to keep the truth from coming out?
Cottage Country is a black comedy that explores the dark, twisted side of family dynamics and the lengths people will go to protect the ones they love (or themselves).
