Cop and ½ is a 1993 American buddy cop comedy film directed by Henry Winkler and starring Burt Reynolds, Norman D. Golden II, and Ruby Dee. The film follows Devon Butler, an intelligent and streetwise 8-year-old boy who witnesses the murder of a retired police officer. He offers to help the police solve the case and bring the culprits to justice, but only on one condition: he wants to become a cop himself.

Despite the reluctance of most cops to trust a young child, veteran detective Nick McKenna sees potential in Devon and agrees to let him help as his partner. Nick is initially skeptical about Devon's abilities, but soon learns that the young boy's knowledge of the streets and its inhabitants is invaluable.

As Devon and Nick investigate the case, they encounter a number of dangerous and eccentric characters, including a drug dealer, a corrupt businessman, and a psychotic hitman. Devon uses all of his wits and street smarts to help Nick solve the case and bring down the bad guys.

Throughout the film, Devon and Nick develop an unlikely friendship, as the tough and cynical cop is forced to see the world through the eyes of a child. Together, they must race against time to solve the case and stop the murderer before it's too late.

Cop and ½ was a moderate success at the box office, grossing over $31 million worldwide. It received mixed to negative reviews from critics, with some praising Reynolds' performance and the movie's comedic elements, while others criticized the film's juvenile humor and predictable plot.
