The movie Cop follows the story of Detective Lloyd Hopkins, an aggressive and unorthodox homicide cop, who becomes convinced that a serial killer is on the loose in Hollywood. Despite his superiors' orders to focus on a high-profile murder case, Hopkins sets his sights on tracking down the alleged killer.
As Hopkins delves deeper into the investigation, he becomes increasingly obsessed, ignoring protocol and alienating his colleagues in his quest for answers. He begins to lose his grip on reality, drinking heavily and engaging in extramarital affairs, further complicating his already troubled personal life.
Meanwhile, the body count rises, and the killer continues to elude Hopkins' grasp. Desperate for a breakthrough, Hopkins takes increasingly dangerous risks, ultimately putting himself and those around him in peril.
As the hunt for the killer comes to a head, Hopkins must confront not only the villain but also the demons inside himself, risking everything to bring the killer to justice.
