Coopers' Camera

Comedy  Canada

Coopers' Camera is a found footage film that is shot entirely through the lens of a professional-grade video camera. The camera is operated by father, Donald Cooper, who hopes to document a memorable Christmas Day with his family.

The Cooper family consists of Donald, his wife, Ruth, and their three children: oldest daughter, Heather, who is married with a son of her own, Sarah, the middle child who is rebellious and troubled, and Timmy, the youngest who is longing for a normal family holiday.

As the day progresses, tensions rise among the family members, and secrets are revealed. Heather is struggling with her marriage and feeling trapped, Sarah is sneaking off to meet her boyfriend, and Ruth is battling alcoholism. Meanwhile, Donald tries to hold the family together, but his attempts only make things worse.

As the day goes on, the family starts to drink heavily, resulting in arguments, fights, and ultimately, chaos. The camera captures it all, as the family members begin to turn on each other, and the Christmas Day they hoped for descends into a nightmare.

Through all the drama and dysfunction, it becomes clear that the Cooper family has some deep-seated issues that they have been avoiding for far too long. Coopers' Camera provides a gripping and raw portrayal of a family in crisis, and the toll that dysfunction and substance abuse can take on relationships.
