Jack Deebs is a cartoonist who becomes the unwitting participant in a battle for control of two worlds: the real world and the world of cartoons. In his comic book called "Cool World," Jack creates a vivid and fantastical world filled with cartoon characters known as "doodles" and "noids" who live and interact together. However, the lines between the two worlds blur when Jack suddenly finds himself transported to Cool World, a place beyond his wildest imagination.
There, Jack meets his own creation, the sultry and seductive Holli Would, a femme fatale doodle who wants nothing more than to cross over into the real world and become a living, breathing human. However, the only way to do so is by engaging in sexual relations with a real human -- something that Holli sees as her ticket to freedom.
As Jack struggles to find his way back to the real world, he must also confront the nefarious plans of Cool World's villain, the evil cartoonist Dr. Vincent Whiskers. With the help of a veteran doodle detective named Frank Harris, Jack races against time to stop Whiskers from using his own machine to permanently merge the two worlds together -- a catastrophic event that would be the end of both worlds.
