Con Air is a 1997 American action-thriller film, directed by Simon West and starring Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, and John Malkovich. The film follows Cameron Poe (Nicolas Cage), a former Army Ranger who is imprisoned for involuntary manslaughter, and is released on parole after serving eight years of his sentence. He is given a seat on a prisoner transport plane, along with other notorious convicts, to be flown back to their home state.
However, things take a turn for the worse when the criminals seize control of the plane, led by Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom (John Malkovich), a psychopathic killer with a genius-level IQ. As Poe battles to survive and take down the violent thugs, he struggles to protect fellow inmate and friend Baby-O (Mykelti Williamson), who requires medicine to survive.
Meanwhile, outside the prison system, U.S. Marshal Vince Larkin (John Cusack) and DEA Agent Duncan Malloy (Colm Meaney) frantically try to regain control of the aircraft before it can cause catastrophic damage. With explosions, hijinks, and shootouts aplenty, Con Air is a classic '90s action movie and a must-watch for fans of the genre.
