Coma is a 1978 thriller film directed by Michael Crichton and based on the novel of the same name by Robin Cook. The movie stars Geneviève Bujold as Dr. Susan Wheeler, a medical resident at the Boston Memorial Hospital who becomes suspicious about the unusually high number of comatose patients in the hospital's neurology ward.

With the help of her boyfriend and fellow doctor Mark Bellows (played by Michael Douglas), Susan begins to investigate the cause of the comas. Her investigation leads her to a conspiracy involving the hospital administration, a corporation that supplies medical equipment, and a secret institute where the comatose patients are being sent.

As she delves deeper into the mystery, Susan discovers that the comatose patients are being used for research and experimentation by the corporation, which is developing a new kind of anesthesia that can induce a comatose state without causing harm. However, the side effects of the new anesthesia are unknown, and could potentially be deadly.

Susan risks her life to expose the truth and stop the corporation's dangerous experiments. Coma is a suspenseful and chilling tale of medical ethics, corporate greed, and the dangers of scientific progress.
