Columbus Circle is a psychological thriller film released in 2012, directed by George Gallo. The movie tells the story of Abigail Clayton, played by Selma Blair, an heiress who lives in a luxurious apartment in Columbus Circle, New York. She has been living all alone for almost 20 years, isolated from the outside world, and paranoid about people who might harm her.
The story takes a twist when one of her neighbors, a young woman named Audrey, is murdered in the apartment across the hall. Abigail's reclusive lifestyle and the sudden death of Audrey spark the interest of the NYPD, and Detective Frank Giardello, played by Giovanni Ribisi, is assigned to the case. Abigail becomes the prime suspect, and Frank realizes that she knows more than she lets on.
As Frank begins to investigate the case, he finds himself drawn towards Abigail, and the two begin a tentative friendship. Frank starts to unravel the secrets of Abigail's past, including her father's murder and the reason why she has been hiding in her apartment for so long. Meanwhile, Abigail starts to confront her fears and opens up to Frank about her traumatic experiences.
The movie features top-notch performances by the cast, including Amy Smart as Audrey, Jason Lee as Charles, and Kevin Pollak as Abigail's deceased father's confidant. Columbus Circle is a well-crafted thriller that keeps the audience engaged until the very end, with a suspenseful storyline, unexpected twists, and excellent cinematography.
