Colombiana is a 2011 action thriller film directed by Olivier Megaton and starring Zoe Saldana, Cliff Curtis, and Michael Vartan. The film was produced by Luc Besson, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Robert Mark Kamen.
The story centers around Cataleya Restrepo (Zoe Saldana), who witnesses her parents' murder as a child. She escapes to the US where her uncle, Emilio (Cliff Curtis), a career criminal, takes her in and raises her as his own. Cataleya grows up to be a skilled assassin and works for her uncle in Colombia as a hitman.
However, Cataleya's true goal is to seek revenge against the drug lord who is responsible for her parents' death. When she receives intel on the drug lord's whereabouts, Cataleya takes it upon herself to track him down and eliminate him. Her mission takes her on a dangerous journey as she travels to various parts of the world and engages in intense fights with other killers.
Throughout the movie, Cataleya must face her inner demons and confront her past trauma in order to achieve her ultimate objective. She also develops a romantic relationship with Michael (Michael Vartan), a Chicago artist, which complicates her already complex life.
The film received mixed reviews from critics but was praised for Zoe Saldana's performance, as she delivered a convincing portrayal of a tough and determined assassin. The action sequences were also highly praised for their intense and entertaining nature.
