Collateral is a 2004 thriller movie starring Tom Cruise as Vincent, a highly trained and dangerous hitman, and Jamie Foxx as Max, a compassionate and hardworking cab driver. The movie is set in Los Angeles over the course of one night.
The story begins when Max picks up Vincent, who offers to pay him $600 to drive him to his five destinations throughout the night. Max, who is struggling to make ends meet, eagerly accepts the offer. However, things quickly turn dark when Vincent kills his first victim in front of Max. Vincent then informs Max that he has four more hits to make, and he needs Max to drive him to each location and wait for him to finish.
Max initially refuses to cooperate and attempts to escape, only to have Vincent threaten to kill him and his next passenger if he doesn't comply. Thus, a dangerous game of cat and mouse ensues as Max tries to find a way out of this deadly predicament, while Vincent pursues his targets with cold precision.
As the night progresses, Max tries to alert the authorities, but Vincent is always one step ahead of him. He even enlists the help of a police officer (played by Mark Ruffalo), but Vincent manages to outwit them both.
The tension builds towards the final hit, where Max has to decide whether to risk his life to stop Vincent or keep driving and hope to survive the night. The movie ends with a thrilling showdown between the two, as Max tries to outsmart Vincent and save his own life.
