Cold Eyes is a South Korean action thriller film released in 2013 and directed by Jo Ui-seok and Kim Byung-seo. The movie stars Han Hyo-joo as HA Yoon-ju, a new recruit to the police's surveillance unit, and Jung Woo-sung as James, the leader of an armed criminal organization that specializes in high-profile robberies.
The movie follows Yoon-ju as she joins the team and learns the ropes of surveillance work alongside HWANG Sang-Jun (played by Sol Kyung-gu), the experienced and tough leader of the unit. Together, they embark on a mission to capture James and his gang of skilled criminals, who leave no traces behind and are always one step ahead of the police.
As the investigation progresses, Yoon-ju begins to feel the pressure of the job and doubts her abilities, while Sang-Jun struggles to balance his work and personal life. Meanwhile, James becomes aware of the police's presence and starts playing a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with the surveillance team.
The tension and suspense build up as the movie reaches its climax, with the story playing out like a high-stakes chess game between the police and the criminals. Cold Eyes received critical acclaim for its stylish direction, intense action scenes, and strong performances by the cast. It was a box office hit in South Korea and was later remade in China as The Eyes of the Sky.
