Coherence is a mind-bending sci-fi thriller that explores the concept of multiple realities and alternate timelines. The movie revolves around eight friends who gather together for a dinner party on the night of an astronomical anomaly. As they sit down for the meal, strange and unsettling things begin to happen.
The power goes out, and as they try to figure out what's going on, they notice that there are several identical houses nearby, with the same cars and the same people inside them. The group realizes that they may have accidentally entered into a parallel universe, and as the night wears on, they begin to uncover secrets about their alternate selves and their own lives.
As the group becomes increasingly disoriented and paranoid, tensions rise, and they start to turn on each other. The movie is a masterful exercise in suspense and tension, with a twist ending that will leave audiences reeling.
Coherence was directed by James Ward Byrkit, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Alex Manugian. It premiered at the Fantastic Fest in 2013 and has since become a cult classic, thanks in large part to its mind-bending plot and expertly crafted atmosphere of uncertainty and dread.
