The movie Code Red follows Dr. Marissa Holloway, a widowed mother and skilled physician, as she travels to Bulgaria to investigate a mysterious outbreak on a U.S. military base. Upon arrival, Marissa discovers that the outbreak is the result of a long lost World War II biological weapon that has resurfaced and is turning people into mutant zombies.
Desperate to find her teenage daughter, who was at the military base when the outbreak occurred, Marissa joins forces with a team of elite soldiers to track down and neutralize the source of the virus. As the team ventures deeper into the infected zone, they encounter hordes of bloodthirsty mutants and uncover a sinister plot to weaponize the virus and use it as a biological weapon.
With time running out and the fate of humanity hanging in the balance, Marissa and her team must race against the clock to stop the virus from spreading and find a cure for those already infected. Along the way, Marissa must confront her own demons and come to terms with the loss of her husband while fighting for the survival of her daughter and the world.
