In Club Paradise, Jack Moniker (played by Robin Williams) is a burnt-out Chicago firefighter who decides to retire and start a new life on a small Caribbean island. Upon arriving, he befriends Ernest Reed (played by Jimmy Cliff), the owner of a dilapidated resort called Club Paradise. Together, they hatch a plan to renovate the resort and attract tourists to the island, while also fighting off corrupt officials and businessmen who want to take over the property for their own greedy purposes.
As Jack and Ernest work together to revamp the resort, they encounter a colorful cast of characters, including a seductive lounge singer (played by Twiggy), a debauched British expat (played by Peter O'Toole), and a group of vacationing American congressmen.
