Club Dread is a horror-comedy movie from 2004, directed by Broken Lizard, a comedy troupe known for their work in Super Troopers. The movie is set on an isolated island resort called Coconut Pete's Coconut Beach Resort, where a group of party-loving vacationers and the resort staff enjoy sun, fun, and casual relationships. However, things take a deadly turn when a mysterious killer starts stalking and murdering the resort's guests one by one, leaving behind a trail of gruesome mayhem.

The staff, led by the resort's head entertainer, Coconut Pete, and the resident masseuse, Lars, reluctantly join forces to stop the killer and save their guests. But they soon discover that the killer is someone with a grudge against Coconut Pete, and the murders are part of a twisted revenge plot that involves the resort's sordid past and the hidden secrets of its staff.

As the body count rises and the killer's identity remains unknown, the staff tries to maintain a façade of normalcy to avoid alarming the remaining guests and protect the resort's reputation. They also have to deal with the arrival of a new group of guests, including a detective who is investigating the murders, a naive ingénue, and a sleazy music star who is scheduled to perform at the resort.

Club Dread is an irreverent and bloody satire of the slasher genre, full of jokes, references, and parodies of horror movies and pop culture. The movie features a mostly unknown cast, including the Broken Lizard members, Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Paul Soter, Steve Lemme, and Erik Stolhanske, as well as Bill Paxton as Coconut Pete. The film received mixed reviews upon its release but has since become a cult favorite among fans of horror-comedy.
