Cloverfield is a found footage-style film that was released in 2008. The movie is directed by Matt Reeves and produced by J.J. Abrams. The storyline follows a group of friends who live in New York City and are celebrating the moving away of one of their friends.
During the party, a giant creature appears and begins to wreak havoc on the city. The group of friends set out to try and escape the city and find safety. Throughout the movie, they encounter various obstacles and challenges as they try to navigate their way through the destruction caused by the monster.
The film is shot from the point of view of one of the characters' handheld camera as they document their journey. This adds an intense and immersive feeling to the film as the audience experiences the chaos alongside the characters.
