The two main characters of the movie are Kayla Morgan and Will Cloud. Kayla is a snowboarding prodigy who has been raised to be a champion by her retired snowboarder father. Will, on the other hand, is a former snowboarding champion who has fallen from grace and now works as a snowboarding instructor.
The two meet when Kayla crashes during a competition and Will is forced to take her under his wing. While initially resistant to Will's coaching, Kayla eventually comes to see him as not just a coach, but also a friend.
As the two work together to improve Kayla's snowboarding skills, they also develop romantic feelings for each other. However, their budding romance is threatened when Kayla's father disapproves of their relationship and tries to drive them apart.
Despite the obstacles they face, Kayla and Will remain determined to achieve their dreams. Together, they overcome their self-doubt and go on to compete in a major snowboarding event, where they both discover that winning isn't everything and that the most important thing is the friends and family who support them along the way.
