Class of Nuke 'Em High is a 1986 cult classic comedy horror film directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Richard W. Haines. The film is set in the fictional Tromaville High School located close to a nuclear power plant, which has been responsible for several accidents that have contaminated the local environment. One evening, a group of students buy drugs from an employee of the power plant, which are laced with radioactive waste.
After consuming the contaminated drugs, the students begin to act and look strange, exhibiting superhuman strength and bizarre mutations. They become a gang known as the Cretins and wreak havoc on the school. Meanwhile, the school's honor society, led by Warren and Chrissy, investigates the strange behavior of their fellow students and uncovers a wider conspiracy involving corrupt politicians and the nuclear power plant.
The film features over-the-top gore, violence, and humor, as well as social commentary on the dangers of nuclear power and drug use. It has spawned three sequels and influenced numerous other films in the genre of bizarre high school comedies.
