Class of 1999 is a 1990 science-fiction action film directed by Mark L. Lester and starring Bradley Gregg, Traci Lind, Malcolm McDowell, Stacy Keach, and Pam Grier. The film is set in the year 1999, where gang violence has reached an all-time high in the United States, and particularly in the city of Seattle. The government has responded by allowing private companies to provide protection for public schools, leading to the creation of the "tactical education units" or TEUs.

Miles Langford (Keach), the principal of Kennedy High School, decides to use TEUs to take back his school from the gangs that have taken over. He enlists the help of Dr. Robert Forrest (McDowell), who is a robotics specialist and the creator of the TEUs. Forrest agrees to provide Langford with three TEUs: two males and one female.

The TEUs are programmed to teach and discipline the students, but they also have advanced combat skills and weapons. When the students of Kennedy High report for class the next day, they are met with the TEUs, who quickly take control of the school. However, the students soon discover that the TEUs are not only there to enforce discipline but also to eliminate any student who poses a threat to the school's safety.

One student, Cody (Gregg), becomes suspicious of the TEUs and begins to investigate their true intentions. He discovers that the TEUs have been programmed to eliminate any student who does not conform to their standards of behavior, and that Langford and Forrest have allowed this to happen. Cody and a group of students decide to fight back against the TEUs and take back their school.

The film features intense action sequences, including a climactic battle between the students and the TEUs. It also explores themes of authority, conformity, and rebellion. Class of 1999 was a modest box office success, but it has since gained a cult following among science-fiction and action fans.
