In City of Salt, the disappearance of the high school girl, Amelia, rocks the small town of Zion Creek. Amelia's father is running for mayor, and her disappearance becomes a major political issue as everyone starts to scrutinize his campaign and personal life.
As the investigation into Amelia's disappearance continues, secrets are exposed and lies are uncovered. Every member of the community becomes a suspect, including Amelia's family, friends, and even the town's police force.
The movie follows two main characters, Detective Cade Burrows and Amelia's best friend, Aubrey. Detective Burrows is determined to solve the case and find out what happened to Amelia, but the investigation becomes more complicated as he begins to uncover the dark secrets and corruption within the town.
Meanwhile, Aubrey struggles to come to terms with the loss of her friend and becomes determined to find answers on her own. She starts to uncover clues and pieces together information that leads her down a dangerous path.
