In the film, Lady Tremaine steals the Fairy Godmother's wand and uses it to travel back in time to the moment when Cinderella tried on the glass slipper. She alters the course of events by making the slipper fit Anastasia's foot instead of Cinderella's, thus leading Prince Charming to believe Anastasia is his true love.
Cinderella is left heartbroken and stranded in the past while Lady Tremaine and her daughters revel in their newfound wealth and status. However, with the help of her animal friends and the Fairy Godmother's ghost, Cinderella sets out to reclaim her rightful place as the prince's true love and restore the timeline before it's too late.
