After his daring escape, Tamburrini is forced to go into hiding and enlists the help of his friends to try and figure out a plan to flee Argentina. Meanwhile, Guillermo and Tano remain in custody, enduring the same brutal torture that Tamburrini faced. Tamburrini's girlfriend, Cecilia, also becomes a target of the military police and is forced into hiding as well.
As they plan their escape, Tamburrini, Guillermo, and Tano find solace in each other's company and bond over their shared experience of torture and imprisonment. They are aided in their plans by a sympathetic doctor who risks his own safety to help them.
The film incorporates flashbacks to demonstrate the events leading up to their capture and explore the political climate of Argentina during this time. It also touches on the impact of state-sponsored terrorism on the families of those abducted, such as Cecilia confronting her own father's complicity in the government's actions.
