The physics teacher, Mr. Thompson, is a firm believer in rationality and logic, and he can't stand the commercialism and sentimentality of Christmas. However, when they arrive at the winter wonderland of Lapland, Mr. Thompson and his family are swept up in the magic of the season. They meet Santa Claus, ride in reindeer-drawn sleighs, and experience the beauty of the Northern Lights.
