As Lucy reluctantly begins her stay in Nilson’s Bay, she reconnects with Peter, her former flame, and they slowly rekindle their love for each other. Peter helps Lucy fulfill Alice’s last wishes, which involves her spending the month of December in Nilson’s Bay. The small-town charm and traditions slowly grow on Lucy as she learns important life lessons from the residents of Nilson’s Bay. She also learns more about her sister, who had a deep connection with the town and its people.
As Lucy spends more time in Nilson’s Bay, she discovers another condition in the will – Alice had donated a significant amount of money to the local community center, provided that Lucy successfully completes the 30-day stay. Lucy initially struggles with fulfilling the requirements of the will but finds strength in the support of the town and its people, eventually realizing the true meaning of family and sacrifices.
The movie culminates in a heartwarming Christmas celebration with Lucy, Peter, and the rest of the townsfolk, with Lucy thanking everyone for making her Christmas everlasting.
