Kathy is a successful food critic living in New York City, consumed by her work and rarely visiting her family. But when her parents ask her to come home for Christmas, she agrees to make the trip back to her small hometown.
Upon arrival, Kathy finds that her childhood town has changed significantly, and she struggles with adjusting to the slower pace of life. However, she soon meets a handsome police officer named Jack, a high school acquaintance of hers, and a budding romance begins to develop.
As the two spend more time together, Kathy begins to consider staying in town longer than planned, but she is hesitant to give up her life in the big city. Furthermore, when a restaurant in town gets a terrible review from Kathy's column, tensions rise between her and the locals.
Amidst all of this, Kathy's relationship with Jack faces challenges as they come from opposite worlds, and she must decide what is truly important to her. Will she choose her fast-paced career, or will she find love and a new home in her hometown?
