Chop & Steele is a documentary-style film that follows the journey of Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett, childhood friends who have spent their entire lives making each other laugh. As adults, the two become professional comedians and launch the Found Footage Festival, a touring show that features vintage and obscure videos found at thrift stores and garage sales.
In an effort to promote their show, Nick and Joe create a fictional pair of strongmen named Chop & Steele and pitch them to morning news shows across the country. The unsuspecting hosts of these shows welcome the duo onto their programs, unaware that they are being pranked. Chop & Steele's outrageous stunts, including lifting tables and chairs with their teeth and performing feats of strength using household items, quickly go viral.
However, their success comes at a cost. The media conglomerate that owns the morning news shows they pranked files a lawsuit against Nick and Joe, claiming that they have suffered damages from the pranks. The stress of the lawsuit and the pressure to keep their career going takes a toll on Nick and Joe's friendship, leading them to question whether their antics are worth jeopardizing everything they have worked for.
As the lawsuit unfolds, Nick and Joe are forced to confront the consequences of their actions and consider the balance between humor and responsibility. Chop & Steele is a compelling look at the power of viral content, the ethics of pranking, and the enduring bond of friendship.
