Chinese Roulette is a 1976 German film, directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. The film focuses on a wealthy couple, Ariane (Margit Carstensen) and Gerhard Christ (Ulrich Bettenbühl), who plan to spend a weekend at their country estate with their daughter, Angela (Andrea Schober). However, both Ariane and Gerhard are having affairs and plan to meet their lovers at the estate without the other's knowledge.

Ariane's lover is a taciturn German man, Kolbe (Klaus Löwitsch), who works for her husband's company. Gerhard's lover is a French woman, Irene (Anna Karina), who he met on a business trip. As the weekend progresses, tensions and conflicts arise as the two couples navigate their various relationships. The atmosphere is further complicated by the presence of Angela, who is disabled and confined to a wheelchair.

The weekend takes a dramatic turn when all four adults decide to play a game called Chinese Roulette, in which they take turns confessing their deepest fears and secrets. The game quickly spirals out of control, leading to a shocking revelation that leaves everyone reeling.

Chinese Roulette is a dark and complex exploration of love, infidelity, and family dysfunction. With its sparse, minimalist style and intense psychological drama, the film is considered a masterpiece of post-war German cinema.
